BCM95 , the patented product of Arjuna Natural Extracts proves its efficacy for the treatment of major depression .The research report published in the Journal of Affective Disorders conclude with a positive note on the antidepressant effects of BCM95 in people with major depressive disorder evidenced by benefits occurring 4 to 8 weeks after treatment.
The report says “Curcumin, the principal curcuminoid derived from the spice turmeric, influences several biological mechanisms associated with major depression, namely those associated with monoaminergic activity, immune-inflammatory and oxidative and nitrosative stress pathways, hypothalamus-pituitary-adrenal (HPA) axis activity and neuroprogression.”
While conducting the study it was hypothesised that curcumin would be effective for the treatment of depressive symptoms in individuals with major depressive disorder and 500mg capsules of BCM95 from Arjuna Natural Extracts , the only bioavailable curcumin product in the market were used for the research. This new product has been shown to be very effective in the treatment of depression.

Another study designed to investigate free radical scavenging and reducing power potency of curcumin confirms the efficacy of bioavailable curcumin beyond compare and was published in the Asian Journal of Chemistry
The results of the study showed excellent antioxidant activity of curcumin and the major reason for it is its bioavailablity. The report concludes with a suggestive remark that curcumin can be used for minimizing or preventing the formation of toxic oxidation products in body systems and has beneficial effects in life.

Oral administration of curcumin reduces inflammation in the first six hours after experimentally zymosan-induced arthritis is the conclusion of this study and had the details of the study published in Acta Cirurgica Brasileira . The study says”Curcumin showed an anti-arthritic effect that was superior that ofother substances, particularly when administered from the day of the induction of arthritis. Its low cost and lack of adverse effects make the substance potentially effective in treating arthritis.”
While conducting studies with even high doses of curcumin (12 g/day), although safe, present with low availability in serum because the extract of Curcuma longa is not water soluble.Bioavailablity of Curcumin for a longer period is the mainstay of BCM95 which solves the problem because it favors the absorption and metabolism delay.
The authors lay great emphasis on the necessity of bioavailablity of curcumin for treating the initial phase of zymosan-induced arthritis.
A Pilot Cross-Over Study to Evaluate Human Oral Bioavailability of BCM-95® CG ( Biocurcumax™ ) A Novel Bioenhanced Preparation of Curcumin

A Pilot Cross-Over Study to evaluate human oral bioavailability of curcumin from BCM-95 proves beyond reasonable doubt that in this formulation curcumin is bioavailable and its metabolism is delayed. The upshot of the studies published in theIndian Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences is that BCM95 is the sole source of natural and safe bioavailable curcumin among various other curcumin based products.
