The key active ingredients in the Boswellia Serrata extract are the Boswellia acids (BA). Of the various acids, the acetyl group of BA are the most potent anti-inflammatory agents. And the most active acetyl BA is acetyl ketoboswellic acid (AKBA).
Studies have proved that AKBA has the unique ability to inhibit the biomolecules responsible for bronchial muscle contraction and mucous secretion respectively (5LOX or 5 lipoxygenase and HLE or human leukocyte elastase). HLE (human leukocyte elastase) helps stimulate mucus secretion and also plays a role in cystic fibrosis, chronic bronchitis, and acute respiratory distress syndrome besides injuring the tissues and triggering the inflammatory process.
Daily Boswellia is standardised with acetyl group of BA with 10% AKBA.
